"Treasa Levasseur's Not a Straight Line is an eclectic melange of blues, jazz, funk, rock, and even a subtle note of country. Consistent throughout are Levasseur's fresh lyrics and mature storytelling." - Leigh Anne Williams (Time Magazine Canada - Arts)

"Effervescent and chatty, the Winnipeg native reveals as much in person as she does in song… Thoughtful bluesy songs she sublimely delivers on her debut CD not a straight line." - Ashante Infantry (Toronto Star)

On the best of road trips, the adventure is found more in the journey than the destination. Treasa Levasseur creates such a voyage with her incredible debut release "Not A Straight Line". Crossing genres like borders with her unique and powerful voice as passport, she uses each song to evoke a new emotional landscape and create for the listener a sonic adventure full of twists and turns. The recording was skillfully produced by David Baxter (Bob Snider, The Northern Pikes) and boasts a huge musical spectrum. This 10-song collection is an impressive and mature debut for Treasa Levasseur, already well established on the Toronto music scene.

Treasa is supported by an all-star band on the album featuring gifted players Richard Bell (Janis Joplin, The Band), Michelle Josef (Prairie Oyster, Etta James), John Elliott (House of Velvet, Rhymestone) Sean Cotton (Suzie McNeil Band, The Undesirables), Kevin Fox (Tom Cochrane, Sarah Harmer) and Carlos Del Junco (Cassandra Vassick, Holly Cole) with guests Justin Rutledge, Julie Crochetiere, Hawksley Workman among others.

An accomplished performing musician and session vocalist, Treasa has rocked out with The Robber who Robbed the Town, created freestyle hip-hop vibes with the Rhymestone crew, and delivered the old-school funk with huge bands like Pan Con Queso, House of Velvet, Lab Cap and the Monkey Mob. In 2002 she released an EP, Me and the Boys under the alias SlimThese days, she can be found performing with her million-dollar band and playing stunning solo shows. Keep your eyes and ears open as Treasa's plans for extensive touring in the summer and fall of 2006. She will also be tearing up the barn floor with local roots hootenanny Lil Jimmy's Chicken Pickers, as well as singing and playing with both Corin Raymond and Claire Jenkins.

Recent performances have seen Treasa at festivals such as Shelter Valley, Hillside, Trout Forest, Live from the Rock and Om festivals, among others. She has also appeared on stages at the Tarragon Theatre, Theatre Passe-Muraille, Buddies in Bad Times and the Harbourfront Centre. Treasa has shared the bill or the stage with artists such as Terra Hazelton, the D.Rangers, Dan Whiteley, Justin Rutledge, Fefe Dobson, Peaches, Danny Marks, Shakura S'aida, Divine Brown, The Hidden Cameras, Bob Wiseman, Kurt Swinghammer, Valdy, Mia Sheard, Claire Jenkins, The Supers, Julie Crochetiere, The Undesirables, Serena Ryder and the Cameron Family Singers.

Limited to nothing and inspired by many things, Treasa's voice has appeared on dozens of independent recording projects including Evalyn Parry and Justin Rutledge in 2006. Her original songs, as well as collaborations, have been seen and heard on Breakfast Television, MuchMusic, CBC Radio, and college radio stations across the country.
