yall a yall

i'm leaving for memphis and i can't wait! i'll be there for a week playing all night long, visiting beautiful stax again, eating at the rendezvous...words cannot describe how excited i am.

and speaking of excited - i have TRACKED the ALBUM!!!! now just a few finishing touches, some beautiful background vocals, a whole lotta spicy tambourine, and then put it all in the blender and mix - presto! sweet soul...i can't believe how real and deep it sounds even at this embryonic point... i love my sweet band and musical friends - thank you michelle josef, john elliot, sean cotton, derek downham, paul reddick, julian fauth, donne robert, arthur kerekes and vandana sharma, kgomotso tsatsi and the parkdale choir, sam cino - and MOST OF ALL david gavan baxter and james paul, the other two sides of the spirit trust triangle.

but you'll have to wait to read the rest of what promise to be copious liner notes. i'm playing at hugh's room on feb. 27th as part of a double bill with lori yates...i'd love if you could come. then off to northern ontario, and a few dates around the south as i get ready to spend the summer touring with claire jenkins avec band. avec fun is more like it.
